Spiritual Awareness - of mind, body and soul. Including spiritual healing massage. An introduction to mirimiri (spiritual massage) - the opening of your energy points to bring in the Wairua (spirit) into your tinana (body). Meditation - the joining up of Rangi and Papa to raise your energy levels. These methods will help to de-stress your body. A longer stay can include an overnight Marae stay. Half to several days available.

Maori Healing Seminar - Maori and their rongoa ( medicines) and the Ancient Art of Living in Harmony with Life. Seminar is conducted in the bush.

The spiritual wisdom of the Maori can be broken down into three categories -

  • the physical or natural,
  • the psychic or spiritual,
  • and the intellect or mind.

You will be guided through these categories by Maori. Overnight at Marae in the heart of Maori communities, staying in great locations.

Our programme is flexible - you choose the time that suits you.

. . . like nowhere else

Experience the living cultural heritage and traditions of the Ngati Kahungunu Iwi nation by visiting Marae and historic sites under the expert guidance of an Iwi elder. Visit the place ancient canoes landed and hear stories of that time from present day descendants of those first Maori. Spend time listening to the rich history of the people, and the story of the beauty of Heretaunga (Hawkes Bay). The land and its indigenous people are bound together by kinship that sustains the spiritual and cultural links of the past with future generations.

Short visits can be arranged as well as cultural journeys spread over many days. Travel from hapu (family), staying overnight at Marae, and sharing experiences with the people. Along the way visit natural sites and hear of the special relationship the Maori have with the environment. They are children of Father Sky and Mother Earth. There are opportunities to feel and understand the uniqueness that each hapu (family) and their Marae have, to maintain their traditions and culture which have been passed down from their ancestors. The diversity of art and oral history is best described with the Maori “Heretaunga Ara Rau” (“land of many pathways).
